Comment posted natural way to treat mouth yeast infection? by goindrinkn.

I would suggest two things. First, use a little hydrogen peroxide, swish it around in your mouth. Then use your tooth brush on your tounge and gums (before rinsing) then rinse with water. This will break up and pentrate the worst of the coating.

The second part is aimed more at the heart of the issue. Why did you get the yeast infection in the first place. As mentioned in one of the posts above – this is an issue with your digestive system. You should take some probiotics. These are basicly the good bacteria that are in your stomache. They help your body battle back to overcome the yeast. (These types of infections are very common in conjunction with or after antibiotic usage.) For the probiotic the best thing is a powder as opposed to a pill. If you swallow a pill it all goes to your stomahce. With a powder it begins working in your mouth and down your entire digestive track as opposed to starting with your stomache. (which is what you want if the issue is in your mouth.) You want to get it from a good health food store as opposed to the supermarket or a gnc type place.

Though you might cure your oral thrush or yeast infection in your mouth, you may still have a yeast overgrowth in your digestive system. If you have been digesting your food poorly or are feeling unusually tired, this may be the case. You might want to research information about candida.

Here are three home remedies:

Salt Water — Rinse your mouth with salt water. Put 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water and rinse it around in your mouth. Do not swallow but spit it out when finished.

Yogurt — Eat yogurt containing lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidobacterium. Use plain yogurt with no sugar, honey or artificial sweeteners.

Coconut Oil — A well known candida remedy is caprylic acid. It is a substance found in coconut oil. Take 1/2 tablespoon to one whole tablespoon of organic extra virgin coconut oil and let it melt in your mouth. Then swish the oil around in your mouth for at least five minutes and up to 20 minutes. Don’t swallow any of it but spit it out when you are finished. Also rinse your mouth out with water thoroughly when finished.

My friend used apple vinegar to gargle/rinse with. Not the tastiest stuff but it does work.

Take Acidophilus tablets found at drug or health food store, or drink milk with lactobacillus bacteria in it of which if also found in yogurt!!! But don’t use the flavored. Use the all natural, unflavored kind!!! Or, talk to your doctor. Good luck to you!!!

Drink cool liquids to cool and soothe the mouth yeast infection.

Rinse your mouth with warm saltwater

Avoid sugars and complex carbohydrates to “starve” the infection

Gentian violet is a dye that kills bacteria and fungi. This can help. This solution should only be used on adults. Talk with your doctor on how to apply this remedy.
